The Eastern Surfing Association, the world’s largest and most effective surfing organization, has a membership base of over 7,000 surfers concentrated on the East Coast of the United States. The ESA is the recognized governing body of amateur surfing with 26 districts from Eastport, Maine to Miami, Florida, including the Gulf of Mexico coastlines of Florida and Alabama. The ESA also includes the Great Lakes of the United States in our surfing programs. More than just competition surfing, our mission statement was created by East Coast surfers to help protect the interests of East Coast surfers and we have lived up to that mission for over 30 years!

The North Florida district is notorious for being an East Coast powerhouse. We have produced generations of champions that have gone on to succeed at both the amateur and professional ranks of surfing. NFL alumni includes Asher Nolan, Jeff Crego, Karina Petroni, David Holloway, Mallory Turner and countless others.

The NFL District of the Eastern Surfing Association holds up to six contest in a season, from May through November. Surfing with us is a great way to meet new friends, improve your surfing skills, and enjoy the opportunity to travel, compete, and maybe pick up a sponsor or three.

2011 looks to be an exciting year for the ESA North Florida District.  Under the guidance of Co-directors Chris Falzone, Jimmy Raulerson, Kathy Austin and Trevor Grooms, the district is looking to regain our spot at the top of the East Coast surfing world. By the end of the season, we will be more than just a group of surfers: We will be the North Florida FAMILY. We hope to build positive ambassadors for the sport both in and out of the water. This is the ESA North Florida… And this is OUR time.
